Kinnser Software Launches Direct Secure Messaging

Kinnser Software, Inc., a national software leader in clinical and business solutions for home health and hospice, today launches Direct Secure Messaging, a cost effective solution that allows its customers to securely exchange protected health information with other clinical providers.

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Jul 7, 2015) - Kinnser Software, Inc., a national software leader in clinical and business solutions for home health and hospice, today launches Direct Secure Messaging, a cost effective solution that allows its customers to securely exchange protected health information with other clinical providers.

Direct Secure Messaging (DSM) is a national encryption standard for exchanging clinical healthcare data via the Internet. Hospitals, healthcare providers, clinicians, care team members, patients, laboratories, pharmacies, and others use DSM to securely exchange healthcare information.

Unlike other DSM solutions, Kinnser Direct Secure Messaging is directly integrated with Kinnser's software solutions for home health and hospice -- the leading solutions in post-acute care. Home health and hospice agencies will be able to improve care coordination and increase referrals with Kinnser Direct Secure Messaging. Kinnser DSM customers will also benefit from unlimited data to send and receive information.
"Kinnser is committed to providing our customers with solutions that support excellent care, compliance, and profitable growth," says Chris Hester, president and founder of Kinnser Software. "Direct Secure Messaging helps our customers become more accessible to their referral sources. This broadened connectivity is vitally important in the increasingly complex and competitive post-acute healthcare space."

Under requirements set by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), many healthcare organizations become eligible for financial incentives if they use certified electronic health record (EHR) technology that adheres to specific "meaningful use" standards. These standards specify Direct Secure Messaging technology as the primary mechanism for sharing clinical information. Kinnser Direct Secure Messaging provides its customers with a clear communication and collaboration channel to this ever-growing provider base of referral sources.

Kinnser Direct Secure Messaging enables home health and hospice providers to:

  • Replace costly, non-secure fax, phone, mail and other courier methods
  • Save time and improve their agency's responsiveness with real-time communication
  • Become a preferred partner by making their agency more accessible
  • Improve coordination of care with their referral sources
  • Access Direct Secure Messaging securely anywhere, anytime

Common uses of Direct Secure Messaging include transitions of care, physician consult requests, lab results, admission/discharge/transfer requests, clinical orders, and clinical reports.
